๐ What is a Transfer?
A Transfer moves money between your everyday accounts โ for example, from your bank account to your wallet, or from one bank account to another.
What Transfers are NOT for:
- Savings deposits or withdrawals โ use the Savings category instead. This keeps your savings balance and your budget in sync.
- Investment deposits or withdrawals โ use the Investments category instead, for the same reason.
- Paying off a credit card debt โ use Debt Payments for that. Transfers to a credit card are only for moving money you already have, not for repaying a loan or credit balance.
Why don't I see my Savings or Investment accounts here?
Savings and Investment accounts are intentionally excluded from Transfers. Moving money into them through a Transfer would update the account balance but not your budget โ your left-to-spend wouldn't change, and your categories wouldn't reflect the movement. Always use the correct category to keep everything in sync.
๐ What is the Investments category?
Use this category to record money you're moving into or out of an investment account โ for example, buying stocks, funding a portfolio, or withdrawing from an investment platform.
What it does:
- Deposits reduce your left-to-spend balance, just like an expense would.
- Withdrawals add back to your left-to-spend balance.
Want more detail?
Head to the Investments page for full contribution and growth tracking, targets, and a trend chart for each investment.
๐ณ Debt Payments Setup
Track credit cards, loans and other debts โ here's how to set it up.
Step 1 โ Add your debts
Add each debt one by one, filling in the form (credit card, loan, or other). If you turn on "Generate payment transactions," the app creates its monthly payments for you automatically.
๐ณ Credit cards read their balance from the linked credit account. ๐ฆ Loans & other debts start from the beginning balance and decrease as you pay.
Once added, open a debt's card to see its full schedule. Planned payments also show up in Transaction List and Calendar.
You can also add payments manually โ but automatic generation is recommended, since the system already knows exactly what's due and when.
Step 2 โ Choose a payoff plan
Open the ๐ฐ Payoff Plan card at the top of this page. It shows all your debts together, month by month.
Pick a strategy: Snowball, Avalanche, or Custom. Then enter a Monthly Budget for any month.
If your budget is more than all that month's installments added together, the extra money goes to the first debt in your list, for that same month. This shortens how long it takes to pay off that debt.
The extra amount is added automatically to the "New/Paid Amount" field, on that debt's transaction for that month. It's ready and waiting โ just mark the transaction Paid once you make the payment.
Step 3 โ Keep it up to date
As you pay each installment, mark its transaction as Paid โ every change (balances, schedule, payoff plan) updates everywhere automatically.
โ๏ธ Paid a different amount? Edit the transaction and enter the real sum in "New/Paid Amount" instead.
โ You can make several payments toward the same installment โ paid in parts, or with extra on top. They all add up.
๐ฐ Each month, your money covers the interest first; the rest reduces the principal.
๐ท Savings Funds Setup
Track your savings funds โ here's how to set it up.
Step 1 โ Add your funds
Add each fund one by one: a name, a start amount (what you've already saved), a goal amount, and a start date. Add a goal date if you have a deadline โ leave it blank for an ongoing fund with no fixed end.
If you turn on "Generate contribution transactions," the app creates your future contributions for you automatically. ๐๏ธ With a goal date, it calculates a fixed monthly amount to reach your goal exactly on time. ๐ Without one, you set your own fixed Monthly Contribution instead.
Step 2 โ Track your progress
Each fund's card shows a progress bar, its period (start โ goal date, or "ongoing"), status, how much is left to save, and your monthly target.
Once the goal amount is reached, the card shows "โ Reached" and stops generating new planned contributions. You can still add money manually anytime โ and if you want to keep saving automatically, just raise the goal amount to restart generation toward a new target.
Step 3 โ Keep it up to date
As you make a contribution, mark its transaction as Paid โ everything updates automatically.
โ You can add manual Deposit, Withdrawal, or Interest transactions any time, for any fund, whether or not automatic generation is on.
๐๏ธ Changed your mind about the plan? Use "Delete all planned contributions" in the fund's edit screen to clear future ones and start fresh.
๐ฆ Done with a fund but want to keep its history? Archive it โ it's hidden from the active list but never deleted.
๐ Investments Setup
Track your investments โ here's how to set it up.
Step 1 โ Add your investments
Add each investment one by one: a name, a start amount (what's already invested), and a start date. Add a target amount and target date if you're investing toward a specific goal โ leave them blank for an ongoing investment with no fixed target.
If you turn on "Generate contribution transactions," the app creates your future contributions for you automatically. ๐๏ธ With a target date, it calculates a fixed monthly amount to reach your target exactly on time. ๐ Without one, you set your own fixed Monthly Contribution instead.
Step 2 โ Track your progress
Each card shows the current value (what you've contributed, plus any growth or loss), and โ if you set a target โ a progress bar, period, status, and how much is left to reach it.
๐ Expand a card to see its full transaction history, and โ once it has activity across at least two months โ a trend chart with hover details.
๐ To record real-world growth or loss, don't guess the amount โ use the "Update Value" button on the card, type in the current total value your platform shows, and the app works out the difference for you automatically.
Step 3 โ Keep it up to date
As you make a contribution, mark its transaction complete from the Transaction List โ the button reads Invested, Withdrawn, or Earned depending on the type โ everything updates automatically.
โ You can add manual Deposit, Withdrawal, or Dividend transactions any time, for any investment, whether or not automatic generation is on.
โ ๏ธ If you use Update Value while a Deposit or Withdrawal is still unpaid and already due, the app warns you first โ mark it Invested or Withdrawn (whichever applies) before updating the value, so your own contributions don't get mixed up with market growth.
๐๏ธ Changed your mind about the plan? Use "Delete all planned contributions" in the edit screen to clear future ones and start fresh.
๐ฆ Done tracking an investment but want to keep its history? Archive it โ it's hidden from the active list but never deleted.
๐ Net Worth Setup
See everything you own, minus everything you owe, in one place.
Where the numbers come from
Cash, Bank, Savings, Investments, Credit Cards, and Debts are pulled automatically from your Accounts and Debts pages โ nothing to set up here.
Other Assets
๐ Things like property, vehicles, or other valuables aren't tracked as accounts, so add them here as Other Assets: a name, a category, and their current value.
๐ There's no transaction history for these โ just update the value whenever it changes, and the total updates right away.
Reading the breakdown
Total Assets and Total Liabilities combine everything above; Net Worth is simply the difference between the two.
๐๏ธ Calendar Setup
See your transactions laid out day by day โ here's how it works.
Step 1 โ Browse and add
Each day shows its transactions as small colored chips, right in the calendar. Double-click an empty spot on any day to add a new transaction pre-filled with that date, or use "+ Add Transaction" for any date.
Step 2 โ Filter what you see
Use the Filters bar to narrow down by status (Planned/Done/Overdue), priority, or category. There's no month/year filter here โ you navigate between months directly on the calendar.
Step 3 โ View and edit
Click any transaction chip for a quick popup โ mark it Paid/Unpaid instantly, tap the pencil to edit, or the trash to delete. On mobile, tap a day to see its transactions in a panel, or long-press an empty spot to add a new one for that date.
๐ก If you budget by paycheck, the days within your current paycheck period are highlighted with a darker border, so you can spot your pay period at a glance. Don't see it? Turn it on in Settings โ "Highlight current paycheck on calendar."
๐ Transaction List Setup
See and manage every transaction you've added โ here's how it works.
Step 1 โ Add and browse
Every transaction โ income, savings, bills, expenses, debt payments, transfers โ shows up here, sorted by date. Use "+ Add Transaction" to create a new one.
Step 2 โ Filter what you see
Use the Filters bar to narrow down by status (Planned/Done/Overdue), priority, category, or a specific month/year. Click "All" to reset every filter at once.
Step 3 โ Manage each transaction
Click the checkmark button to mark a transaction Paid or Unpaid, the pencil to Edit it, or the trash icon to delete it. For a recurring transaction, deleting gives you the choice between removing just that one occurrence or the entire series.
๐ฆ Accounts Setup
Track your bank, cash, credit, savings and investment accounts โ here's how to set it up.
Step 1 โ Add your accounts
Add each account one by one: a name, a type (Cash, Bank, Credit, Savings, or Investment), and a starting balance โ whatever you have in it right now. For credit cards, also set a Credit Limit so the app can track your utilization.
Step 2 โ Track your balance
Each account's balance updates automatically โ every transaction with it as the From or To account, once marked Paid, adjusts it. Planned (not yet paid) transactions don't touch the current balance yet.
Step 3 โ Review history & filters
Click a card to expand it and see its full transaction history, with a running balance shown per transaction โ solid for paid, projected for planned ones.
Use the Filters bar to narrow down by account type, or by month/year to see that period's In/Out instead of the all-time total.
๐ณ Credit cards with a limit set also show a utilization bar (% used, amount available).
๐ต Paycheck Budget Setup
Budget by paycheck instead of by calendar month โ here's how it works.
Step 1 โ Set up your paycheck periods
Each paycheck period is a date range you define, and it includes everything dated inside it โ income, savings, bills, expenses and debt payments alike.
A paycheck period doesn't store an income amount by itself โ it's just the date range. To record what you actually got paid, add a separate Income transaction dated within that period, from the Transaction List or Calendar page. You can add as many Income transactions as you need within the same paycheck โ useful if you have multiple income sources or an amount that varies each period.
If your pay comes at a single regular interval (weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, monthly) โ even from multiple sources, as long as they fit that same pattern โ set it up once in Settings and generate them automatically. Only if your income is irregular (doesn't fit one single fixed interval) should you create periods manually instead, with "+ New Paycheck" โ that way you control exactly what each one covers.
โ ๏ธ Make sure your periods don't overlap โ a transaction dated in an overlap will be counted in both.
Step 2 โ Understand what's included
Only transactions dated within a period's Start and End date show up in it โ nothing outside that range.
The "Paycheck Breakdown" card (top) shows a Rollover figure, calculated automatically from everything already paid before this period started, plus your bank/cash starting balances. Expected vs Paid also appears in that card's table and inside each category card below.
Step 3 โ Set a budget (optional)
Each category card (Income, Savings, Bills, Expenses, Debt Payments) has its own amount box, in your chosen currency โ type in a target amount for that category, just for this paycheck. Once you do, the card tracks how much more you can plan, whether it's fully allocated, or if you've gone over.
๐ Monthly Insights Setup
See your budget broken down by calendar month โ here's how it works.
Step 1 โ Browse by month
Use the month/year dropdown (click the title) to jump between months. Each month includes everything dated inside it โ income, savings, bills, expenses and debt payments alike.
Step 2 โ Understand your breakdown
The "Month Breakdown" card (top) shows a Rollover figure, calculated automatically from everything already paid before this month started, plus your bank/cash starting balances. Expected vs Paid also appears in that card's table and inside each category card below.
Step 3 โ Set a budget (optional)
Each category card (Income, Savings, Bills, Expenses, Debt Payments) has its own amount box, in your chosen currency โ type in a target amount for that category, just for this month. Once you do, the card tracks how much more you can plan, whether it's fully allocated, or if you've gone over.
๐ Yearly Overview Setup
See your whole year at a glance โ here's how it works.
Step 1 โ Browse by year
Use the year dropdown (click the title) to switch years. The whole year's transactions get grouped by category โ income, savings, bills, expenses and debt payments alike.
Step 2 โ Understand your breakdown
The "Year Breakdown" card (top) shows total planned vs paid for the year, with a percentage under or over planned, plus a category-by-category table.
Step 3 โ Explore monthly trends
Each category card below shows a bar chart of that category's monthly trend across the year, plus a month-by-month Expected/Paid table โ useful for spotting patterns over time.
